Florida Ag Expo Canceled
Considering Hurricane Milton’s extensive damage to Florida’s agriculture community, AgNet Media and UF/IFAS decided to cancel the 2024 Florida Ag Expo. Hurricane Milton has caused significant damage across Florida’s agricultural lands, making proceeding with this year’s event impractical.
The hurricane has caused widespread damage to crops, greenhouses and farm infrastructure, and many growers are still experiencing its impacts.
“Florida farmers are facing tremendous challenges as they recover from the destruction caused by this catastrophic storm,” said Robin Loftin, president of AgNet Media. “At this time, it is clear that the best course of action is to focus on supporting our farmers and their hurricane recovery efforts.”
“We are incredibly grateful to our sponsors, exhibitors, staff and our partners at the UF/IFAS Gulf Coast Research and Education Center who have worked so hard to prepare for this year’s event,” added Loftin.
AgNet Media will continue to dedicate itself to Florida agriculture and its farmers by sharing news and information regarding hurricane relief as it becomes available. Our thoughts and prayers go out to all those impacted by Hurricane Milton.
